I knew this guy socially and one night at a club he told me I looked really beautiful and proceeded to ask me out via text message -while we were both still at the club. He was quite a gentleman and it wasn’t until several weeks had passed before we even kissed. We had good chemistry so I presumed he’d be a lot of fun in bed. And he was, until the crucial moment when he said he was unable to go further, which I was OK with. He opted to compensate by aggressively fingering me while still wearing his rings, which gave me a memorable injury. Subsequently all we could do was violently rub our loins against eachother, until he put off seeing me and finally dumped me via text message (on Christmas Eve). Afterward I discovered that he is – at 27 – a virgin who has pulled this same routine on other women before. He also reckons “Goth” is tantamount to a religion and is known to spout random H.I.M lyrics or “Bright blessings!” to friends. Wanktastic.

Why…the…fuck would he do that over and over and never once take it all the way? Dude’s got issues.
Meh, some people just aren’t comfortable crossing that final line. For some, sex still has a special meaning, and good on you for respecting that. The world needs more people like that.
However, paying your respect and kindness back with this behavior is terrible; hope it doesn’t sour your attitude about people in the future.
You made some mistakes here. First, the text message while still at the same club. If he didn’t have the balls to ask you in person, why would you think he have the confidence to be good in bed? Second, why didn’t you ask him to take off his rings? If something hurts, say so. That’s common sense. Third, a 27 year old guy who isn’t willing to “take it further” is either gay, a terrified virgin who would suck anyway, or impotent. Huge red flag there. Ahh well…live and learn.
The extent of the injury only became apparent 24 hours later. The abrasive friction itself was so brief that I did not have time to say “Er, ow, wtf are you doing?”
The gay theory appears to be leading the consensus.
