I lost my virginity when I was nineteen to a guy one of my male friends introduced me to. We had sex for about three months and I didn’t orgasm once, but when I tried to talk to him about it, he would shrug it off and say, “None of the girls I go out with get off. Must be something wrong with them.” All I kept thinking was, “Or maybe it’s because you suck at this.” One thing you expect from men is that they’ll tell their friends when they have sex, for whatever reason. Fine. But along with telling his friends, he told all of MY friends. In front of me. This really wouldn’t have been a problem if my best friend at the time hadn’t been such a prude.
